St. John the Baptist Chapel is a beautiful Gothic Revival style Episcopalian Chapel located in the Elkhart Cemetary on Elkhart Hill (Elkhart, Illinois). The chapel was constructed in 1890 by the Culver Stone and Marble Company of Springfield as a memorial to John Dean Gillett, a prominant rancher who was once dubbed "The Cattle King of the World" by the London Gazette. As the only privately owned and operated chapel in the State of Illinois, residents of the town have the opportunity to attend the annual Christmas Service, which on the night this photograph was taken also coincided with a supermoon.
